The history of buy aid
The wish to be acknowledged for creating a successful company, combined with the fundamental need for making a difference in their daily work, was the “starting signal ” for establishing buy aid.
The buy aid founders, Knud Mogensen and Michael Meurs-Gerken, had many years experience in the classic call center business. However, they wanted to bring the business to a higher level. Commercial fundraising was the realization of this dream.
Today buy aid employs more than 120 people. As well as offering them a job and income, these people believe in its core values such as “Make a difference – be proud”.
The main reason for ‘buy aid’s success is that there is, in our society today, an ever-increasing need for developing new and creative ways of raising funds for charities. ‘buy aid’ has been able to highlight the concept of “corporate social responsibility” within companies. By offering businesses quality products with an ethical profile, buy aid has been able to attract more than 100.000 loyal customers. These customers take up the idea of combining charity and purchasing.
Today, buy aid is active in 6 countries, but believes that its concept ought to be implemented in many other countries. Since 1996 we have donated 12,4 million Euros to children in need around the world.
